School Resource Officer

Protecting, serving and teaching the youth of MeigsCounty will be some of the important roles filled by Meigs County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Griffin as he takes on the position of School Resource Officer in the coming weeks. Large Heroin Bust

Deputies made the largest heroin bust in Meigs County history. Sheriff Keith O. Wood says Andrew "Luke" Barstow of Pomeroy and Anthony R. Wervey of Middleport, both 23, were arrested and charged with aggravated possession of a controlled substance.

I am very sad to report that our Deputy K-9 Zack passed away this evening around 11pm. This was caused when his stomach decided to turn, which caused an internal blockage. Zack was rushed to Charleston, WV for an emergency surgery, but was unable to recover. Please keep him in your prayers!

Meigs County Sheriff Keith O. Wood reports Deputies located a four pot Methamphetamine lab at 38028 Story’s Run Road Middleport. Deputies at the scene arrested the home owner Norma J.
